Combining Soybeans

Calibrating the yield monitor gave me a chance to take a picture like this.  🙂

We wind-rowed the stubble.  We will bale it to use for a feed filler and for bedding.

Unloading the grain cart into the semi.

Fire fighting equipment.  Because of the drought, the beans are even dustier then normal.  After a couple close calls, we decided to put an air compressor (to blow the dust off the combine) and a water tank and pump on a trailer and to wet it down if something started getting hot.

Last of our fields, at sunset.  Still have a few acres to do for a neighbor.

Yields were very mixed this year.  We had one field that was about as good as we have ever seen, but several fields that were very very poor.  We will see how corn turns out!

May I just say what a relief to discover someone who actually understands what they’re talking about online. You definitely understand how to bring a problem to light and make it important. A lot more people need to read this and understand this side of your story. I can’t believe you are not more popular
because you definitely possess the gift.
