Corn Planting Goes Digital, and Heifers.

ag leader on corn planter

We are putting some new technology on our corn planter:  GPS controlled variable rate population, (using a hydraulic motor to plant more or less seeds based on yield potential) advance seed tube monitoring (supposed to be more accurate)  and GPS controlled individual row clutches (each row can be independently shut off to save seed, and avoid over population)

Holstien heifers

Thanks to a breeding problem we still have a bit of a wave in our calvings, so we decided to buy some heifers that were ready to calf to try to even things out and fill out new barn a little quicker.  So these will be the first 10 cows for Scholze Family Farms.  Will try to follow on of their calves like I tried with First Lady.
