Combining Wheat and Rye

Got our Wheat and Rye combined last week:

John deere 9500 dummy head

We cut the grain with a swather (one of our haybines is actually a swather, we just remove the crimper to not damage the grain) to allow it to dry down faster before picking it up with the combine.

The straw coming out the back of the combine will be baled and used for bedding for the calves.

Truck is full.  Don’t tell the DOT…this one may have been a HAIR overweight.  🙂

Going to start cutting third crop this week so will be a busy week again.
